From preschool to college, St. George, Utah boasts some of the best and newest educational facilities in the nation. The recent population growth has prompted St. George to build five new elementary schools in the last five years to keep up with the demand and class sizes to an average of 18 students per teacher. Two new intermediate schools as well as a new high school have recently been constructed.
Students of St. George schools can certainly make the grade. Schools in the region have scored 19% higher on IOWA aptitude exams than other students across the nation. Mean scores on other exams that measure a school’s success average 3% higher than the national average.
St. George is home to 17 preschools, 15 public and 2 private elementary schools, 10 public intermediate and 3 private intermediate schools, and 7 public and 3 private high schools. Every school within the St. George region holds itself to the highest standards of educational excellence and it reflects in the success of its students.
St. George is also home to Dixie College which offers courses in several academic areas. Students enjoy a wide range of choices of degree programs in things such as aviation, communication, elementary education, theater, and much more.
Over 7,000 students enroll each year in Dixie College, a publicly supported institute of higher education, whose mission is to offer associate and bachelor degree programs in areas that are in demand with the times. They are ever-expanding their curriculum and accreditations.
Also headquartered in St. George is Learn Key, a self-paced educational material provider whose mission is to “train the planet”. They offer continuing education classes to corporate, government, and personal users who wish to find a helpful and interesting service that will give the students the knowledge they desire. They have helped government entities, corporations such as 3M and Sylvan Learning, and organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
The St. George Learning Center, home of the University of Phoenix, has a vast range of degree programs for people that cannot necessarily attend a classroom. Their distance learning programs are some of the best known in the world of education and they have helped hundreds of thousands of students from all around the world to achieve their educational goals.
For students that require a little extra training or for those that just wish to improve their test scores, Sylvan Learning Center is located in St. George for them. They offer programs that they guarantee to raise a child’s classroom and test scores in a variety of curriculum areas such as mathematics, science, and reading.
The education system of St. George, Utah is unsurpassed offering small class sizes in truly excellent accredited learning facilities. It is a wonderful place to raise school age children or attend an institute of higher learning.
