UT427516Dubbed as “Utah’s Dixie”, the area of St. George and Washington County has some of the most mild weather in the United States and thus the reason why families and retirees are relocating.  The median temperature is a mild 78 degrees for daytime highs with the average low at 50 degrees.

A month by month breakdown shows that in January, the average temperature is 53.5 degrees for the high and 29 degrees for the low.  February brings an average of 60 degrees at the high end and 32 for the low.  March’s normal high temperature is 68.1 degrees with the average low at 38 degrees.  April’s average high temperature is 77.1 degrees with an average low temperature of 45 degrees.  In May, the average daytime high is 86.2 degrees and the average night time low is 52.4 degrees.  June’s high on average is 95.9 degrees with a low humidity and the average low is 60 degrees.  On average, July’s high temperature is a dry 102 degrees with the night time lows averaging 68 degrees.  August’ high temperature averages 99 degrees with the average low at 66.4 degrees.  Fall starts out in September with an average high of 93.2 degrees and a normal low of 57 degrees.  October sees an average high of 80 degrees with the average night time lows of 45 degrees.  November’s average day time high is a warm 68 degrees and the normal low is 33 degrees.  The holidays in December enjoy an average high temperature of 55 degrees and the low averages at 28 degrees.

 Located just a few miles from the Arizona border and Mojave Desert, St. George, Utah enjoys temperatures that are well above much of the rest of the United States.  Lush vegetation grows beautifully and naturally in St. George with average rainfall amounts of 8 inches per year.  One of the most enjoyable aspects of St. George is that the sun shines an average of 300 days a year.

 Leave the snow shovels behind; St. George, Utah average less than one half inch of snow each year making this beautiful city the prime area of the country for the “snow birds” to land.  The mild winters in St. George makes it a premier location for golfers to flock to.  The area has several golf courses that are open year round.
