Santa Clara Real Estate

Located along the sunny banks of the Santa Clara River, lies the city of Santa Clara.  Rich in heritage, history, and natural beauty, Santa Clara is a place of beauty.  Founded in 1854 by Jacob Hamblin, the city was incorporated in 1915 and well known for its fruit and produce selections until a new interstate was constructed, abandoning the old one and bypassing the town.  Santa Clara would not be gone, though as a revitalization project approved and completed by city officials in 2007, bringing new life to the downtown area.

The $10,000,000 mission to restore the historic downtown area has paid off.  Since the 2000 census, Santa Clara has grown its population base by more than doubling its number of residents.  The 2010 U.S. Census projections place Santa Clara at over 10,000 residents, nearly 125% of the earlier numbers.

Santa Clara is part of the St. George, Utah metropolitan area giving it the added attraction of the small town feel close to a major economic hub.  Many of the residents of Santa Clara commute to St. George, Utah to work and enjoy living and raising a family in a smaller community while having all of the advantages of a large city nearby.

While in Santa Clara, one can enjoy the only remaining fruit and produce market, Frei’s Fruit Market.  Seasonal produce abounds in this historic market that has been owned by the Frei family for nearly 55 years.  Further down the main street, step into one of the quaint gift shops such as Garden Sprout or The Clover Patch.

Each year the city brings in thousands of visitors for its annual Swiss Days Festival, a celebration of Santa Clara’s rich Swiss history.  Complete with concerts, fireworks, arts, crafts, food vendors, 5k run / walk, and parade, this festival is an enjoyable time for young and old alike.

Santa Clara, Utah is nestled among some of the most beautiful natural scenery the nation has to offer.  With the Santa Clara River, Zion National Park, Red Cliffs Recreation Area, and Pine Valley Mountains, just to name a few, there is sure to be a picturesque scene to take your breath away.

Santa Clara, Utah is known for its beautiful climate.  The summers are hot, but dry, and the winters are mild due to its location at the northern border of the Mojave Desert.  Residents of Santa Clara have no need of a snow shovel.  If the snow does fall there, it is merely a dusting and an event that excites the residents of this beautiful town.
